It's been F8 on every computer I've used. It's all about WHEN you press it.

Hmm... It appears that does work...
F8 - By pressing the F8 key right when Windows starts, usually right after you hear your computer beep when you reboot it, you will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode. If it does not work on the first try, reboot and try again as you have to be quick when you press it. I have found that during boot up right after the computer shows you all the equipment , memory, etc installed on your computer, if you start lightly tapping the F8 key you will usually be able to get to the desired menu.

Safe Mode works but will it fix all the errors on my CP or should i just system restore with it?
- 11 Mar. 2010 04:39am #12
Either F fucking 8 or you can always hold down the power button until the computer turns off and when it boots up it asks if you want to go into safe mode.
Edit:
Upgrade to Windows 7. It'll fix your crap ol' computer.

System Restore is a tool look in Accessories
System reformat is different, if you have the reformat disk provided by the company that you bought the computer from and it came with the computer use it, else if your on a laptop (acer) press F11 or F12 while using the computer should bring up a thing where it asks you if you want to reset it to manufacture settings.
Note* System reformat you dont get to keep your files
