Butterfree is a badass. Always was, quickest way to psychic.

I have to say, I always go with a duo of fire types on my team, Typhlosion and Ho-oh, mainly because Gold version was my favourite. I have never once had trouble with psychic types at all and never ever had any luck with bug types. I usually keep a grass type of some sort on my team though.

I'll usually keep one fire type, and one type that knows a Fire attack
