Okay, when playing I know EV's are involved, but as for your Pokemon's movesets, starters, team matchup, etc. Do you have a strategy?
Personally, I like to give my Pikachu a Ground attack. So it's super effective against it's own type

I usually try to spread out attacks so that at least one pokemon on my team has an ability to cover another. =P
Also I enjoy annoying stats moves like toxic.
Lol I didn't know there was tactics behind Pokemon, I just use the strongest move.
I try to build a team that covers each other's weaknesses naturally. from there I try to teach each Pokemon two moves that different types from their own so that I have a move that is super effective against any type. The idea being that I should be able to 1 hit KO any Pokemon unless they have super high speed or defense.
Attack moves only. Two physical, two special.
Coolest looking motherfuckers.
The REAL way to play Pokemon.
New versions? I\'ve done that ever since Red/Blue.
It takes a lot of late-game grinding, but it gets the job done.
Stalling's perfect as long as you work on the defense of the pokemon that does it.
I have a lvl 38 Butterfree with a speed boost item (so it always goes first)
Use Sleeping Powder
Spend 5 turns bulking attack/critical/defense
Bam. That's the whole team taken care of for the rest of the battle
I love Pokemon that can learn odd moves.
It's amazing what teams you can build for extreme strength set-ups.
I HATE single-type Pokemon. I prefer two-types.
I like Single type Pokemon to an extent. It really depends on their nature and what they can learn
I like to use abilities to their full affect. I have a Nidoking with Sheer Force (negates his side affects in all attacks) with a life orb (increases base attack points in all attacks, which normally takes out a small amount of hp for each attack. For some reason his ability negates this, too, so there's no drawback) equipped with Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, and Flamethrower.
Hot.
Damn.
I'm going to start giving out Prizes
You should see my triple battle lineup raivu. My first 3 pokemon are gastrodon, palkia and jellicent. I run a full water type team with vaporeon (support), lanturn and poliwrath as my benched pokemon. Palkia is meant to be a fast sweeper for taking out high risk targets, jellicent is a wall for certain moves and my trick room user, and gastrodon is my bulky sweeper who is UNSTOPPABLE with trickroom. The key to my build is abusing water absorb and storm drain abilities, so everytime I use surf in a triple battle my gastrodon gets special attack boosted. He has a special attack ground move, hidden power grass, ice beam and surf (hits like a truck after 2-3 boosts and goes first in trickroom almost always).
I like building type-teams like the traditional gym leaders. It really makes synergy shine :)
Haha I don't unfortunately. I run water absorb on vaporeon for the SOLE REASON that i don't have any pokemon with rain dance. I don't want to risk an enemy team getting free 100% accuracy thunders on me in triple battle, so because of that I don't run rain dance in my surf triple battle strat x:! Besides if i ran hydration, surf would hit vaporeon! even if it is for minimal damage :(!
Ever since the Playthrough, I am amazed at how solid the Nidoking at the first few badges can be.
I still have to complete that!
I\'m pretty sure they do have 3DS emulators though. And if not, they sure will be coming soon.
I don\'t know why, I can\'t play emulated Pokemon games. I\'m fine with other games, but when it comes to Pokemon I just have to have the real cartridge haha. I\'ve been tempted to buy a blank readable and writable cartridge and a cartridge reader/writer so I can download ROMs and actually play them on the physical Gameboy, but I\'m not sure yet haha.
They have 3DS and DS emulators. I've had people tell me they work great but I've not experienced that but it's been awhile since I touched one
Due to the nature of pokemon and the time commitment I have to play it on a handheld. Makes it more real for me I guess plus I can play anywhere.
my set up;
smeargle with spore, toxic, a one hit KO move, and double team
the most annoying piece of shit you could ever fight
Interesting haha. Yeah, my triple battle surf team is based around my gastrodon as well. While I have some pokemon that go fast (palkia being my major one) most of my pokemon have anti speed natures and I use my jellicent to trick room. I like to surf to boost my gastrodon's sp attack as much as possible in order to lead him into a trick room making him one of the strongest sweepers for triple battles (in my opinion, without spamming legendaries)
