No one actually cares what you buy most of the time. If you're really that afraid say you're buying it for your younger brother's birthday. Idk
If you get a 3DS I totally recommend getting Fire Emblem awakening though. Also Rune Factory 4 is finally coming to the 3Ds this summer. I highly suggest finally getting a 3DS.
It's the first time I've actually used my 3Ds since I bought it.

I'm trying to get a new team together now that I beat the Elite 4 but I'm not sure as to what should be on that team yet.

I'm still pretty lost. lol. Just wandering around and stuff happens. For instance i needed a water type for the longest time but I couldn't figure out how to get one since I didn't have a rod.
I was thinking about dragons or ghosts maybe but I don't want to do a straight up of either since it'd leave me with a glaring weakness. Plus I need fly and surf.

Dragonite works well on a rain team because in rain it boost the accuracy of thunder to 100% and Hurricane to 100%.
Since Dragonite is part flying it gets a STAB bonus to Hurricane too.

Fire is also pretty easy I heard with a Drought (ability) Ninetails.
