I don't think he was. he may have been, but I could be mistaken. But still, Thomas still deserved it because he had influenced the change and updates of alot of things on the site, so it wouldn't have mattered.

It has already been discussed. Staff cannot be nominated.

Actually I think it was because he contributed to LG like crazy. He use to hold contest even before he was staff.
Also MOM thread showing thomas was nominated but staff aren't allowed to be nominated.
