Resonance - Fine Art Decor By Uriah - Originally $2500, but if interested you may offer.
I am only going to be listing photos that I feel are worthy as fine art prints. I do not sell just any of my photos and I am very critical of myself.
Resonance is my first and only real fine art photograph. No other photo of mine have I felt are worthy as a decor piece.
Like the deep unexplored oceans, or a deep thought that wanders through your mind, Resonance is an image that really speaks to me both mysteriously and spiritually.
Limited to only 3 prints, one print for myself and two to be sold as fine art decor, Resonance is extremely rare and autographed on the back. There will be only 3 prints in existence.
Resonance is unlike any other Fine Art Abstract Photograph. If looked at closely, Resonance has been noted to look as if it is moving. The print it's self has a luminous quality that almost appears to glow from within.
Because Resonance is infused right into the metal, and not painted on the surface, Resonance is extremely durable. It is waterproof, weatherproof, and scratch resistant, and can even be cleaned with glass cleaner, so you are are safe to know your limited metal print will last a lifetime.
Resonance is a 24" x 36" metal print.

Resonance - Fine Art Decor By Uriah
Due to a certain member thinking my prices are too high, I am asking this question to anyone that views this thread, because I legitimately want to know because I am trying to market myself as a fine art photographer. If you believe the price is too high or too low, what do you think would be reasonable? Remember, these are high quality metal prints meant as collective art decor and not stupidly cheap paper posters.

Yeeeeah, not really sure if this is sarcasm or not...
- 25 Apr. 2013 08:41am #5
Not at all. Why would you think so? Fine art photos go for a lot more than 2k. I feel that this is worth $2,500 because of it's quality and durability. If you disagree, that is fine.
Edit: If you dislike the photo, tell me. I use criticism to my advantage. There is no need to come to my thread and bash me because of my prices though. I take stupid remarks such as "Hope that was a typo." and "not really sure if this is sarcasm or not" as trolling or spam. If you're not meaning to sound like you are a troll, I apologize for accusing you as trying to act like one, but those types of remarks are unhelpful and I am trying to grow as a fine art photographer.

no one would pay that amount of money due to the fact it's free-lance. Just, no.
- 25 Apr. 2013 10:51am #7
There's nothing wrong with the picture, I'd buy it from a store yes, if it was maybe 50 bucks or so.
But selling photograps that you personally consider "fine art" just makes you look like a cocky, pretentious douche, which you aren't, you're a nice talented photographer.
Start a dA account and sell prints there, or whichever site you prefer, get your name out there, be humble and you'll get far.
And about the comments I made, I was dead serious. I didn't mean to offend you, I just find this very ridiculous.
If you came across a photo, selling for 2,5k, by someone you've probably never heard of, would you take it seriously?

You have to remember this is a metal print, and not a normal metal print either. I could see a normal poster print selling for that cheap, but not a high quality, weather resistant, scratch resistant, and water resistant print than can even be cleaned with glass cleaner. I cannot even have these created for less than $180, plus whatever shipping is. But oh my gosh, I do wish I could get these made for $50! I do personally consider this photo fine art, but that's not the reason I decided to sell them as such. I decided to sell it as fine art because of the comments I am receiving on dA and other sites. One person contacted me this morning about the listing. Whether or not they are serious or not, I haven't a clue. I do agree though that $2,500 is a bit much for the average family. Art collectors pay way to much on the other hand. Those are the people I am really targeting. For the normal person I could probably accept $500. (Price of having it made, shipped to my residence, inspected, then sent to the buyer. And just enough for a couple hundred profit. ) I would sell on dA, but they cut out a middle price. I would had listed these as poster prints, but I wanted something that will last a lifetime and not have trry about clumsy kids. I do apologize for going off on you. (Yes, that would be counted as going off, by accusing you of being a troll. I am usually more quiet about things. Had a bit of a bad day yesterday. )
As for buying a piece that costs that much...ehh..I don't know. It depends on how good it is, but if it's something by Peter Lik, most likely yes. He is well known though. So I see your point on that.

Yeah if I was considering buying art with 2,5k I'd like for it to be from a known, respected artist.
If an art collector buys it, well, they probably have the money to spend on pretty much anything they find on the web.
Anyway, good luck, hopefully these will get sold to someone who cherishes them

You need to be more well-known before selling things at that price
also, i doubt anyone here would want to buy it, this is a gaming forum

Like Soph said, establish a reputation and sell for low prices first. Sure, I'd buy a print of this for $35-50, but over $1000? I could buy a car for that price, lol.

You've chosen a poor means of production. he costs to create the print is high so you have to ask more. This is a mistake since the only reason people invest such a medium is that they have the money and there is a demand for their work.
You have neither.
You could sell hi-rez laser jet prints for 5-10 and maybe make some sales at a local art show. You could do cheap paper and cardboard framing and increase your max to 20. Some better frames on some panorama stuff for more, like 200; Maybe.

These things are metal. I wish I could go that low. Lol I can go as low as $500 though. Now if they were illuminated poster prints I should be able to go very low. I may produce a few of those and see if people are interested. So far only 2 people has contacted me about the metal ones. Neither has bought though.

Evidently you are not the best at understanding things. Don't be an idiot, the metal is to preserve the print, not add to "how rare it is".
I am not selling a metal printing service. I am selling my personal photos as fine art decor.
The metal adds to the quality of the print. The way it is printed is the best way possible to preserve a print. Not to mention it looks amazing and is easy to mount.
I've had 3 offers around $300 - $400. Granted I do not want to take anything less than $500, I couldn't complete the deal. $500 is what is to be expected from the average Joe wanting to buy something exotic-looking for his living room, because I am just starting out and my name isn't really "out there" as a fine art photographer.

"it's not worth that much regardless of what it's printed on. "
Even it it was printed on gold i wouldn't pay it. it's a waste of metal
Your efforts of trolling are better used in another forum. Or do you enjoy spamming the market forum?Last edited by SpornyTheAlien; 28 Apr. 2013 at 03:50am.
