Those dances are like the ones where people jump, dance to mainstream, etc.
Prom is partner dances like throughout it all
- 13 Jan. 2010 04:55pm #6
Yeah, prom is about 50% slow dance. The other dances are 90% shit-you'd-hear-in-a-club-if-the-club-were-PG-13-appropriate.

My proms(junior and senior) had three slow songs total. The rest was almost all club rap shit with a few songs I picked because I would go up to the DJ and berate him about how terrible he was which got me the 80s hit "Jump Around" and some Michel Jackson stuff.
Any way semi-formal dance equals same as every other dance with girls in dresses and in heels they will take off after ten minutes of bitching about having to wear; guys wear slacks, collar shirts, and jackets they ditch as soon as they get in. Some will wear ties, all that do will eventually loosen them and unbutton their top few buttons and roll up their sleeves.

People care less than you think. I went to prom in a leather jacket. No once care very much when i came in and ceased to care after like five minutes. They only stare when you do something weird...like tango with a dude while holding a rose in your mouth cause your bitch date won't stop texting some 25 year old in Tennessee she decided she loves last night. Yay high school.
Any way yeah...wear something nice and just have fun, nothing else really matters. People is people, don't worry about how you look or what they think, just relax and have fun with your friends.

First 30 minutes all the guys are over there and all the girls are over there, save for the few groups of friends that stick together. Music is playing(generally club/rap crap). Eventually kids go out on the dance for and do whatever they think is dancing, lots stand and talk.
Add that with other synopsis I gave.

It's basically like C0FFIN said. People stand around, some people dance, and a lot of people leave early to go out to eat before they go home or go to a hotel or something.
I'm poor, so I didn't have a tux, but instead I went in a black jacket buttoned up halfway, my dads black tie, a plain white shirt underneath it, unripped jeans, and plain black sneakers.☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

Not if you do it right. You need ample crotch room and have to use pieces and sow them together.
My school's colors were blue and silvers so we were all about duck tape and/or tin foil clothing.
My friend and I actually pioneered a brief movement in my class to have tin foil spartan outfits for spirit days. Ridiculous but true. We had blue capes and stuff, it was awesome.

We didn't sew, We put the duct tape face (sticky side) to face, and it worked pretty damn well.
The shirt took awhile to get right, and we later fixed the pants my duct taping cloth into the crotch, which fixed the problem mostly all the way.
Disco is neat.

Dude. I know right.
The big thing is, my hair was long enough to have my hairstyle done right.
Now it'll just look weird.
