Hey all!
So I've been offered the opportunity to move over to America for a month or so for work. The company I work for has expanded and now has a warehouse in Utah. I've been asked if I'd like to go over there for a while and set all the IT stuff up for Team America.
I'm not a big fan of extended travel so I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do it but it is a big opportunity for me so I'm definitely going to give it some thought.
The reason I bring this up is that I'm curious to know if you've got any advice or suggestions for me if I do go through with it.

Working in America (Temporarily)

utah is literally the most boring place conveivable to be in in the united states, imho . the closest fun place you could be is colorado, and even then there's not a whole lot going on besides weed and partying. if you're 21+ and into buying top shelf marijuana it might be fun if you have the time to go to colorado, lol.
where are you from?

Utah looks BEAUTIFUL! I have never actually been but I would love to go! There are a lot of mormons out there which can deter some people from visiting, but if you like nature, you will love it! Moab is the first place that comes to mind, Salt Lake City is supposed to be a really nice but small city, and the west coast in general has amazing places to see, Colorado is full of beautiful hikes and hippies, boulder is a fun little city as well! Vegas is sort of close, as well as the grand canyon. Phoenix is hot but really fun city as well, and California, washington, and oregon aren't tooooo far and all worth visiting! Utah has a rep for being boring, but I have friends who are definitely not mormons and they love to visit, so if I were you I would def consider it!

Did you go to Utah? Honestly, I think Utah kind of sucks, but that's because I live fairly nearby. Like, there's a lot of cool places to check out, and the SLC isn't too bad, but otherwise it's just... kind of the same as all the other states around it. Lots of farms and desert. I DO think it's worth a visit, at least once in your life, though! There's some pretty dope Mormon temples in SLC.

I didn't end up going in the end, not sure how I missed the responses on this thread. I went to China for a bit instead which was pretty fun but I hated the food out there.

It's a weird one, we moved from UK manufacture to China quite a while back and everyone is always shocked when we tell them that the quality is significantly better.

Any mature Western democracy is going to have significantly aged industrial production and have a hard time installing any production facility of quality that is in any way affordable because they transitioned to service and technical skills based economies at home ages ago. China is in the later part of its Industrial Age and its happening in 2018 not the 1800s. They're able to produce a lot of thing at superior quality for that reason. Most of my hobby products come from there(models, board games, video game keyboard and mouses).
