What he said.
This contest allows all users to enter. Would you rather I make it a programming contest instead? Or would you simply rather I make it into a contest where only you have an advantage?
It's a cash prize for virtual currency on a gaming forum. I don't see how you can even say it isn't worth it.

Sure, but then you have to think about the 400 other people who don't know jack about programming, nor has the time to learn in time for the contest. With the undertone of referring getting you virtual currency that's needed for the contest, it should also net in more members and increase the population of LG.
If you don't want to participate, go take part in a deviantart contest or something that's more suited to your tastes.

Bad contest for you, or for the site?
If I made it an xbox 360 live contest, not all could enter.
If I made it a CSS contest, not all could enter.
If I made it a graphics contest, not all could enter.
If I made it a programming contest, not all could enter.
I had to make it a contest the entire member base could participate in. Furthermore, it'll help the site in terms of activity. Will get more people posting and will encourage people to refer their friends/advertise.
Thanks though, for trying to tell me how to do my job.
