Stuff happened, things were fixed.
---
It's this interpol virus that pops up saying their with the police and you need to pay blah blah blah or else something.
Won't allow task manager to open.
Don't remember how to fix it.
My step-dads computer, not mine.
He already tried going into safe mode and restore the computer.
Anyone know what to do?

Disconnect internet connection.
Install Malwarebytes.
Run and scan.
Delete the malware.
Friend had same problem and this solved it

Cool, thanks.
I went and unplugged the ethernet cable, started off with the console and ran explorer, manually went through files in temp folders and microsoft start folders.
Deleted several suspect things.
Also running Malwarebytes at the same time just in case.
I don't suggest anyone trusting anything called "TornTV"

Also, running in safe mode kills every startup file that isn't default. I'm IT, and it's much easier to reboot in safe mode and download malware bytes than disconnect the Ethernet and run a portable version.

Try installing and running Hitman Pro. Its picked up stuff on my computer before that Malwarebytes hasn't picked up. Its pretty handy.

RogueKiller works awesome too. Those viruses are getting trickier. Just go into safemode with networking and boot-up RogueKiller. It should find it since I think it's a root virus that runs on start-up and hijacks the main screen freezing the task managers. Sometimes this doesn't work, and you have to do a full system restore. And sometimes it reboots the computer from the safemode select screen.
