And lost $500 at the casino last night. Well not by myself, but it was an epic lose!
Was playing blackjack for hours...
Ever been to a casino?

The most money I have ever lost is like 20€, I only play slots. We have them in every store now. Meh, there's this one machine I always win from, that's enough for me.
I did purchase a lotto ticket this week, though. So that's something new too.
I'd love to play poker with real money one day, as I have been playing with virtual currency on a casino site and getting lucky too, I'm just afraid of it getting out of hand.
I fear that I might get addicted or something if I win actual money

I used to do penny machines at the slots and made out okay. Every 3 rolls on a machine, move to another one.
But cards was my favorite. I never really lose any more money than I win when I play blackjack or texas hold 'em☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

I promise you, they never thought of you as one of them at that high roller table. You may have lost $500 and thought it was no big deal, and to you it might not have been. But they lose more in a casino in a night then you make all year, and don't even think about it. A $500 bet means nothing to them. They probably use that much to wipe their ass with.

Oh you're so right. Except the part you aren't. I had them all convinced that I was some big wig one even wanted trk out a deal with me to do networking activities for him. It's not the fact of the money you show or how much you bet it's how you hold and present yourself that is the key. Not to mention when I go out of town I like to look nice so my image was that of someone with quite a bit of money and no cares in the world. They didn't see me as an outsider even talked about shit like they had known me in high school or something. Of course most of them were born into being rich and those were the ones that I had no interest in bothering with as they had nothing interesting to offer so I didn't care if they actually viewed me like I belonged their.
Also I think you guys are thinking way to much on "high-roller" around the casinos here high rollers are $100 min bets. Not like in Vegas where they have high roller tables for like 10K$ minimums and crap like thatLast edited by SilkyNick; 12 Apr. 2013 at 05:41pm.

Or they played along cause they're out to have fun and don't really give two shits about who you are, what you do, or how much money you have. $500 is nothing and the fact that's the money you had means you played like that's what you had and nobody was impressed.
People like that talk about deals, work, and are friendly in general because that's just their life. I bet some of them even took your phone number. They aren't going to call you though.
You are right about appearances, unfortunately looking nice isn't really the end of it. Any jackoff can wear a suit. Not any jackoff can wear a 10k suit or shoes. People like t can tell the difference just by looking at you. An based on this discussion you weren't wearing a tailored suit and Italian leather shoes.

$500 isn't how much I took or bet at all. Nor have I stated what I was wearing or how much money I spent on what I wear. I'm a prideful man with quite a bit of money. I forgot this userbase is full of teens who haven't gotten life experience past their front door so to speak. I didn't even start this thread to be boastful or brag so I'm just going to not bother with any of that anymore.
Also, no offense coffin I didn't mean exactly you when I said teens, no need to retaliate by telling me your older than that, have had ton of life experience, and smack me with your swelling e-peenLast edited by SilkyNick; 12 Apr. 2013 at 06:37pm.

I only go to the casinos for the free booze. Watching the games is where it's at. Gambling is for idiots. At least knowing the psychological principles for why it's addictive, I could just invent my own variable reinforcing game that doesn't cause me to go broke. Playing them is just dumb. I know too many people who have gone bankrupt from it.
- 12 Apr. 2013 08:15pm #33
Nick, stahp. Just, stahp. You aren't cool because you lost 500 dollars gambling. Stahp.
- 12 Apr. 2013 08:21pm #34
I didn't know I was claiming to be cool for losing $500.....
@Game I only play when my friends invite me to go with them. Otherwise I avoid the casino because I like the thrill of making money and losing it just as fast. Normally I'll set myself a limit and keep going until I earn that much in winnings or break even. Most of the time I come out positive. Gambling is a pretty stupid thing to do if you have an addictive personality or think you can get rich from it.Play dumb now so you can shock the masses later

I'm about to do something I haven't done since 1.0 just because it really needs to be done in this case:
Yes, I am, and here is why: It's called friendly banter. People that make millions of dollars do it with other millionaires (on a serious level) and with people who have no idea what all of the work truly means. Fact is, that guy that "wanted trkout a deal with you" probably knew within 10seconds of you opening your mouth that you knew nothing about anything that he really dealt with. You convincing yourself of anything other then that is what I'm going to refer to as a Cartmanism. Money is everything to these people. They don't give a fuck how you carry yourself (outside of looking presentable to the public). All people with money care about, and if they're people that made it themselves it's more relevant, now follow me on this one: Money is everything. Your little $500 suit isn't even worth the lining of their pockets. Their $10,000 suit, that they bought cause it was a good morning, and the coffee was hot, shows that. Bullshit. You have a Charmander sweat-shirt. "Swag" doesn't make you look like a rich person, it makes you look like a retard to anyone that has been around the block and is out of high school. If you aren't going everywhere in 3-piece multiple thousand dollar suit, you aren't shit to anyone that matters in the corporate world and actually makes REAL money. You can polish a piece of shit all you want, but its still a piece of shit. You can change the look, but the smell won't change and everyone knows what it really is. That solidifies your ignorance on the topic. Old money is money that is never going anywhere because it's had generations of proven investments that wont go sour, and has a proven record of winning. The people you're talking about are self made, yes, but that means zilch. New money, unless it has the backing of old money (oil, petroleum, steel, major companies) means, as I said before: nothing.
This is further proving my point. High rollers that bet $100 either don't really have millions and are average business people at any rate or are shy about being filthy rich, which no self-respecting self made millionaire is
Full of teens with no life experience? I'm a former United States Marine, a combat veteran, and partially disabled from service related issues. Take that life experience quip and shove it up your ass.
You have the balls to say anything to Coffin, one of the finest mods I have seen on this site? And I have been here for 6 years, so I have seen a LOT of mods come through this place.
You obviously care since you are still posting this thread, instead of asking to have it closed.
tl;dr
You +losing $500 =/= cool You + losing $500 and making a thread pseudo-bragging about it = you being trolled for being a total douche-canoe.
