My girlfriend used to take an anti depressant, but decided to try and get off of it. Talk about mood swings like a mad man when she was coming down off of it. It was intense

You are generally weaned off of any psychiatric drug, since stopping administration abruptly tends to cause strong mood swings.

Yeah that's what she ended up having to do is take half pills and then she eventually got to where she forgot to even take those and now she very rarely has any problems.

There was this woman next door to us when I was like 13 that had DID. She would be outside in the back yard sometimes thinking she was stills 17 year old girl...not something a 37 year old woman should be thinking....then her kids had her locked up in a bit home

Thanks, I take pride in reading on mental health. I come from a family with a lot of problems and to be honest I probably have a few myself, but they won't be diagnosed (other than my anxiety that is clearly there when someone sees me in public) so I have always had interest. For a while I wanted trk as a "shrink", but decided against it.

Mildly relevant to this thread, I recommend keeping around a copy of Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses.
That shit's useful.

Chief is right, plus a lot of the side effects listed can actually be bogus side effects that they predict based off of other medications side effects that contain the ingredients of that medication as a means of covering their ass (if you ended up commuting suicide after starting the medication they don't want to be sued for wrongful death because you experience a extremely rare side effect., I'd like to say there is no need for that, but this is America and we've sued over hot coffee....)

Ah I see, I decided against it because I feel like if I were around depression and stuff all day that eventually my mind would start losing it from dealing with other people issues. Sounds mean but I don't mean it in a mean way.
-crap I double posted. Sorry about that.
- 25 Mar. 2013 08:45pm #19
Double posting is fine in JY, as long as it's to different posts.
You could go into experimental psych and just run studies instead of dealing with depression directly.

That's actually a possibility and with the possible move I would actually be close enough to a college to look into it because the whole field fascinates me and once I start I just can't stop for hours. Who knows it may be one of those things where it's more fun to me than it is work.
