Really? That looks like it would be a huge problem with how long it is in the front. Are you using any gel or anything to keep it in place?
I was going to recommend you spike it instead of putting it down. And that you take up using Head & Shoulders to get rid of the glistening, but if that's gel that would defeat the purpose. If not, I think the spikes in the examples would be a little better. Maybe a little length off the front so that it matches the spike length.
Or do this if you prefer it.
You look a lot less androgynous than I expected. I certainly wouldn't mistake you for a girl, though I can totally see that haircut on a girl, and it look fine.

The shine is from it being wet though, that was right after I rinsed all the dye out of my hair. When it's dry it's a lot less obnoxious.
