What happened to the subforums of the Programming section?
Man you are just doing things over the top, Charles. I hope you know what you're doing.

The programming section just got moved. What do you mean what happened to the subforums? Did they get deleted or something?

The source code/release sections. Those helped minimize the amount of threads in the Programming forum.
Edit: Also the programming challenges sub forum. They're all gone in oblivion now.Last edited by The Unintelligible; 27 Jan. 2013 at 02:03am.

The topics were moved to the programming forum itself, not deleted. The last posts in them was 3 months ago. They don't really need their own forum in that respect. No one posted in any of them. When the programming forum takes off again, they can be recreated, but for now if no one is even posting in them, they obviously aren't cluttering the programming section.

How unnecessary. Please re-create those sections back. The forum is starting to look like an eyesore.

So that they can keep not being used and make the forum look dead for new users? No.

Yeah, because the Programming section was the problem and not the other thousand dead forums that are still lingering.
The second-third most active forum on this site was the underlying issue.

The remaining forums have more topics and later last post dates than the programming subforums. They are also minimalistic. If you have suggestions for more forums to remove, I'm all ears.
Save the Healthy Living forum, last post in Dec. 2013, all of the remaining forums at least have posts from 2013, whereas the programming subforums were around September and November.

Is the programming forum supposed to have some sort of surplus or overabundance of activity? That's not the purpose of the programming section. The programming section never had extremely frequent posts.
You're only watering down the forum and making it worse. I honestly saw no problem with the programming section whatsoever being that it's my favorite place on this forum, but if you think the solution is to remove components of it, so be it.

Discussion isn't restricted, so I'm not sure what your complaint is. Every topic that was there is still there, and every topic discussable is still discussable. But there is no reason to split it amongst five different forums when all of their activity combined wouldn't even cover the first page.
