I'm working on making some new FLPs and FMPs and aFMPs and such, pretty boring work. It's weird, I used to have a ton of patience and make tons of these, and thought it was really fun. I wonder why I find it boring now?
Also downloading Planetside 2, I've been downloading it off and on for a few days now, 7GB can take me a week or so because of the times I can be on the computer and my 256kbps internet speeds.
Oh, and I'm working with this dumb program called Greenfoot for my Computer Science class. It's making games in Java. I don't see the logic there, but I have to do it so whatever.
What are you guys up to? How has your day been? -snip-

God, I read that. Obviously you just need to vent. Also a "all he had was a Bachelor's"? A Bachelor's is a good degree. It is more than most people have. It's not an uppercase degree, but it is a middle-class, financially feasible degree. Getting a Master's and being looked down on is pretty ridiculous. Ironically, it sounds like the adults in the STEM fields grew up to be the bullies if that's the case. Most notably, though, I see your association between "potheads" and a lack of intelligence, but you should be take these strong emotional associations and take them with a grain of salt when comparing them to entire groups of people. This serves for people outside of your father, in both positive and negative stereotypes.
Talk therapy would be good for you, btw.

Yeah, I know about the potheads thing and no intelligence thing and how it's just a stereotype and I shouldn't believe it, but about a year ago I had a kind of scarring event with this type of thing. My best friend who I hung out with every other day, we were super close, like we would both say that we were best friends and shit, had always told me he would never do drugs. I was hugely against drugs, all the way up to around a few months ago when I finally got kinda lax with it. Would never do it, but what other people want to do is on them. Still don't want to be around it though. So this was at a point in my life where I would rather kill someone than do drugs, like it was that serious. My friend comes up to me one day and goes "So, I've been smoking pot and doing other shit for a few months now. I hope you don't mind" and my world just comes crashing down. I was like "Uhm, what?" and he was like "Yeah, I don't think I'm going to stop either, I love it." and I never really talked to him again after that. I was practically devastated. After that, I just kept hearing stories about the harder and harder drugs he started getting into, everything from LSD to dropping acid to other shit. Now I don't really care anymore, I would talk to him again and stuff (maybe not be best friends again) but it completely changed my life. He had been my path into the popular world, and that disappeared. All of my friend groups shifted and stuff, but it was all for the better. I had been slowly shifting away from the computer and towards the Xbox while hanging out with that kid and stuff, slowly coming away from computer security and web design and programming and stuff, and if I had completely come away from that I'm not even sure what my life would be right now.
So you could say that someone becoming a pothead completely changed my life for the better technically, but it was still a life-changing incident which caused my dislike towards potheads.

I am quoting this. So that at some point in the future, you will look back on it and realize how silly you were when you were 15. And you won't be able to just delete your post. It is now permanently contained within my post, to display evermore.
Man, I miss being 15 and all silly about morally comparing murder to drug use. Sweet innocence. I wanna just pinch your wittle cheeks.
You don't have to revolve your life around drug culture, but respond to your environment realistically. Experimental healthily and normally. Don't let your dad have that power over your life to stop you from doing what you would do, not what you wouldn't want your dad to do. If you wouldn't, then don't. But just going on your responses about the topic, you seem more emotionally than logically invested in your position. And, like previously said, this reflection carries over into other aspects of your life, other decisions you make that can be negative for you personally but for reasons related to your father (/Freudian psychobabble). It's an important reflection to make.
