Get something small that you can move yourself. You will literally never need a half stack and tubes ate a pain to deal with in the long run. Plus 9 to 1 you aren't: a. playing loud enough to really use them and b. have the ear to hear the difference.
I suggest a Peavey Vypyr at whatever wattage you think you need. Which it's doubtful you'd need more than 50, 60.
Vypyr can generate most any sound and handle any style.
Listen to me about this. I have a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 from the 80s. It's got about 300watts. I turn it up to 1, maybe 2 if it's really loud. It's big, in the way, and heavy as fuck. Do yourself a favor and listen to me when I tell you to buy something that you can move yourself easily.
The thing has 2 12" speakers so it's large as it is, not stack big thank god. It's heavy as fuck. I can move it myself but it is a huge pain. You don't want that, trust me.
Portability what makes a good amp. You need to have the sound you want but with the technology we have today you don't need big and you don't need loud. We can get the same sound at a much lower cost because of it.
