Someone said JavaScript was a dying language and that we should instead use languages like Perl or Ruby and use Perl/Ruby-to-JavaScript converters to convert the program to JavaScript. It was the probably the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. Their justification was that JavaScript is too difficult for people to learn. So apparently people who already knew JavaScript needed to learn a different language and use it instead to perform the task they already knew how to do.

Lol, that's pretty dumb. But then again, people are starting to use CoffeeScript for that very reason. So who knows. Something I personally wouldn't do, but whatever.
