DMCA infringement notices are just hollow threats. They're welcome to spend 1000x more chasing me in Australian courts to get the money they're owned.

Ahahaha, after having this site up for years and years and making money off of it and everything, you've never paid for vBulletin?!

I got an e-mail once that was like, "We have evidence that you've been pirating" (or it may have been that I was hosting copyrighted material on my website; IDR) and "Reply to this confirming you got this e-mail." So, I just deleted it and never heard from them again.

I would disagree. If you are using a forum system and attempting to profit off it, vBulletin is the way to go. The free alternatives do not share the user approval or features that vBulletin does. It is hands down the best system. But if you aren't running a legitimate business, fuck paying for it. If you are, it's worth the money.
