How does SQLi have anything to do with the type of hacking he's referring to in this context? I personally didn't find anything funny about that at all.

You Know HTML. Once you find the dork its easy going by finding the column.
- 17 Jun. 2012 05:56am #16
IIRC, LG got big because they used a bunch of shit Gaia accounts to mass spam other accounts with LG advertisements.
Also, lol @ kids discussing SQL injection.
Also time frames for SQL injections. Because it is a thing that has a time frame.

How about advertising outside of the realm of games? That's served us so well in the last 3 years. e_e

Back than Lg had a fishing bot people would spend real money on because it was the shit.
To make a famous community you need a bot that is constantly updated when the game is and have 1000's of people referring there monthly membership to the bot.
i.e. Go off what w8baby.com is doing, or gamersoul. They might have changed the forum name.yup this is really me gamersoul AVA

This is awesome, never thought that site like these really stayed. It's like i can't find an other forum other than LG or EBU that is this active.
I've been finding the internet very boring recently and inactive. That what Lg makes me feel :'(
- 23 Jun. 2012 11:17pm #23
LG is horribly inactive.
AND I LIKE IT THAT WAY
I am sick of there being 100 new posts in the Junkyard whenever I view it.

Profiting a site isn't that easy. LG has huge potential for profit though. Arty doesn't seem to want to implement any of it though. Or maybe he's just waiting till the next version. I would start a competitor and make table scraps if it wasn't socially complicated.
- 24 Jun. 2012 09:57pm #26
I think that he's too busy for this or just lazy.
IDK why but this came back to me: "Alex is a pizza man" lol it was posted by chad or some of the staff like matt or thomas.
Still don't know what it means.

Game, I don't think you know what the fuck you're talking about.
LG died because of the site constantly going down, and the bots getting blocked. I think the place started really going downhill once Captcha came into play and crackers became useless, since those were one of the main ways people dragged in tons of profit.I am steady killin' fools.
- 25 Jun. 2012 03:16am #28
LG started dying when I stopped pushing out and advertising programs.

Web browser games in general are dying out, especially old school ones like this. There isn't even really a market for their gold anymore because of how much abuse these sites have been through. With that being said, most of the people have a lowered perceived benefit of doing anything remotely interesting to gaia anymore.
You should try thinking cynically once in a while, it'll give you a ton of answers before you have to ask the questions.

Becaus a few hundred dollars is worth countless hours of programming and debugging. Factor in sales time, factor in risk of banning if it's something on a large scale, factor in worthless scammers and chargebacks.
Yeah, you don't need to be the president of the USA to get more $/ hour then that. You could likely make due with more from minimum wage.
- 26 Jun. 2012 01:39pm #35
Selling gold is a hassle. The last few transactions I've done over LG (both around 100-200) have resulted in chargebacks (not as a result of being banned or anything, they just chargeback to get their money back). It's got to the point where I'd only ever trade with someone if they agreed to a telephone call or something beforehand. That, or I secretly infect them with something prior to trading as a contingency plan in the event something goes wrong.

That is the art of children stealing credit cards from mommy and daddy. Last time I did a sale for 100$, the childs mother actually CALLED ME and we resolved it over the phone. She had to force the child to give me back the account, as I waited over 30 minutes of her yelling at her daughter to give me back the information. That was the one person i accepted Google checkout from. Probably not the greatest of ideas lol. The world will just have to accept the fact that most people wanting alot of game gold probably aren't of age to earn/spend their own money.

While I agree with this, I must also add that the market just isn't what it used to be nowadays, less so on the older games. World of Gaycraft still sells for those who aren't interested in getting from 1-85 even with powerleveling guides, The Failscape demand bottomed out a couple of years ago, and Gaya has just become a dull market. Gold and items aren't worth remotely as much as they used to be on the purchase rate in equivalent values; Prices still go up for items, but gold now goes for 1-2$ a million because it became fucking worthless. My worth, everybody's worth, now just spirals upwards because of gradual inflation in the marketplace. This malaise spreads quickly to popular items of recent origin even.
TL;DR: Legit market where people actually paid right for the things we sold them is bottoming out nowadays. Most customers, as you said, are just kids who want to become gosu on online games the fastest way possible. My contributions:

For all the stuff that happens around here, LG itself is always remarkably unchanged. Thanks to the folks who still remembered I was once here and welcomed me back despite me being retarded.

For 12 year olds on the Internet, it is. Did you know kids these days still use Cha Cha? You get paid like $0.50/hour. I'm surprised that shit is legal. I die inside every time I hear a kid say something like "I made $20 on ChaCha! It's so awesome!" Congrats. You worked full time and made slave wages. If you had a real job, you'd literally have over tenfold the profits.
tl;dr children=dumb
This ***** thinks $2/mil is a lot.
- 28 Jun. 2012 02:47am #40
Fact of the matter is, a lot of those children would balk at real jobs (mowing lawns, for instance) and all they want to do, for the record, is make money ONLINE. They simply will not accept any other method if you slapped them in the face with it.
I've made my profits while I could, when gold and items were still worth something to sell on the online market. I don't sell much, if at all anything, nowadays. I have a job now of my own. I don't feel the lack of a market, anyway. My contributions:
