So it's happened 3 times to me in the past where i get a virus my computer fucks up and i just re-install the O.S. to make it work again.. I'm guessing all the times I have re-installed the O.S. my old files somehow backed up or something but I'm worried about deleting them.. my computer space is too full... so Idk if I delete this old windows o.s. file that it might effect my computer in someway that it won't function anymore

I had reinstalled my os on my old computer many times and it was window's 7, but i'm 95% sure it won't hurt your computer if you don't have any programs running coming from that folder, make sure they're all coming from your main window's folder, I tryed to delete my old window's folder since i re installed it 3 times, and i didn't need them, and they said windows.000, windows.001, windows.002. But its safe to delete it, but make sure your not running any programs that are vital for your computer coming from that folder. If you have any problems talk to me on skype Zac573.

Honestly i don't know for sure, but if you try to delete the folder it sometimes said for me that a file in use was coming from that folder but it was always a program that i didn't need, so i just ended that file with malwarebytes assassin, because the son of a ... didn't want to close lol, but other than that, I'd suggest not installing the os on that hard drive unless you completely wipe it out. But first thing's first, make a bootable image file from the os files, if you downloaded it that is, if you have a disc then just boot from it, and format everything on the hard drive it's much easier to do that. If you need help making the bootable image file i can help you there, just download and run any iso converter, just google it, or look on youtube for how to make win 7 iso bootable.
