FAFSA hooks me up fat each semester! I am practically going to school for free. This semester I had to buy my own books but NEXT SEMESTER, I got book vouchers.

Fuck Fafsa. The state decided I have to fill one out to get a merit based schoorship and I have a right to privacy. Why the fuck does the state need to know how much money I or my parents have to reward me for good grades in high school?

I had to do the same for my merit scholarship, and I was only expecting to get that back; but trough FAFSA I found out that I was eligible for grants I never heard of. I ended up only paying 700$ out of pocket, was reimbursed that and over $5,000 of that money through grants, and claimed my tuition on my taxes using 1098-T form and got 6k back. FAFSA is there mostly for documentation. You aren't required to put all information on there, but the bare minimal.

Grats! Where are you planning on going?
My FAFSA got me close to 15 grand, and I already had a 5500 dollar education award from americorps. Yay free school!
Except like 10k of that is stafford loans. Boooo debt.LG's resident grammar nazi.

Florida requires a complete FAFSA nder some new bull shit law. I do not qualify for financial aid because according to the Obama admin. I'm from the 1%. I just want the money I was promised, no strings attatched like it has been for the last three years. I'm upset about having to provide any info because Florida doeshave a stste tax deal so they don't have any real records on my assests and I'd rather they never do.

Then in all honesty, fill out the FAFSA now, even if you end up not going it won't hurt you in anyway. I believe the deadline was next month. You can always apply to a simple tech school, and have a meeting with whoever the financial aid advisor for said school is. They would have all the information for school based scholarships, local scholarships, federal grants you are eligible for, and loans (student loans aren't bad at all).
Especially since you are an unmarried woman living on your own with no help from family and with only so much income; there are tons of grants just for that. I'll chat with you when I have free time. Right now I am working in a high volume hotel and a high volume restaurant at the same time. Makin the transition into a new work environment is a bitch

Alright, will get that done for sure. Sometime next week I'm suppose to hit up MCC which is our community college around here. I'll talk and see what's available to me. C:
I'm going to talk to a career adviser first but I was thinking of going into Psychology. I'd only go into it though if I really am hell bent on getting my PhD. Other wise I might go with something more useful degree wise.
Also nrries at all! Take your time. I have to do a lot of running around today anyways.
All hail kitty pig.
