(Where you claim to send the product back but all the get was an empty box) As they can't claim to know if the product was actually in there, they then send you a replacement.

The opposite. You rage and ask where the fuck your product went. The key is to damage the box a bit and reseal with shipping tape. They will tell you they'll investigate, call em back in 2 days time and they'll offer a replacement.
