*Laughs* I was thinking something more simplistic...I just need something to run without a lot of options in it. Less places to fail.
Not to mention after everything, buying that car would probably cost about 5-6kGaiaonline Exploit Log:

You got an area code I should be looking in?
Also I'm a big fan of Mazda and Trans Am(Pontiac).
The 1979 Firebird with the screamin' chicken is my dream car but you can most likley get a 90s one for 2-3k.
For mazda you can most likley pick up any of their 90s models for the same price range. I found 2002 protege for 3.5k and a 1990 Miata convertable for the smae.
Cash is king, if you walk up to people with cash you can haggle them down more. I bought my car for 5k less than what they wanted plus my trade in because I came with the cash. I actually was leaving and the dude ran out to stop me and say he coud do it.

You honestly just have to look in the classifieds floating around your town. Call a bunch of people, check out the cars. It's not really a one day thing. Took me a month to find a car within my budget, and that was decent.
I am about to go through the hassle of getting a custom mini cooper right off the lot, I just have to bitch at a salesman until I get a decent price for it >_>
I listen for the whisper of your sweet insanity.
While I formulate denial of your effect on me.

I was trying to put you between beater and bitchin sports car, which generally means a sedan. Any way good luck. I had to look for a month before I found the car that was right for me and even then the day I went I found the car I have and bought it instead.
They all of 100k miles on them, but I have a friend with like 6 Mazdassimilar milage that are running fine and I have another friend that got a Pontiac that she kept running for 8 years.

Im not a car person~ I just know how they work, So, No matter what I will get I will be irritated with it, just need something reliable that wont fuck me over with repairs.
Every mini cooper I have seen has had a goddamn british flag on the roof of it, which pisses me off.Gaiaonline Exploit Log:

Then you might should buy a bike and save. Any thing you buy will be over 100k miles and is likley to need repair oftenish plus you'll still need regular service-oil change, tires, ect. Also make sure to get the car or whatever checked out by a mechanic before you by it. the seller should pay for this.

I suggest if you're buying used and it's an older car go with a Nissan/Toyota or other Japanese make car. Mine's a 1997 sentra with 180,000+ miles and still running strong.
My uncles Nissan Truck was still running fine around 240,000 miles or so. Though I'm pretty sure things had to be replaced.
On a side note I don't suggest going with an american car unless you want to end up putting more money into it.
Older American cars tend to be awful money eaters when it comes to gas and maintenance. /Plus have first hand experience with this. My step father was an auto-body man and for a while our family bought wrecked cars at auction, fixed them up, then sold them.
Keep in mind the mileage of the care you're trying to get. Also the descriptions.
The Firebird coffin posted has some issues: "water pump needs to be replaced. The car does leak a little oil but does not require oil to be topped off between oil changes"
You want to try and make sure you get a car with out extra problems other wise you'll have to spend more money in the long run.
If you buy from any one make sure to haggle whether it be from a dealer or a private seller. Also don't be afraid to walk out on a dealer and come back later. Sometimes they'll call you back with a counter offer. (This is what my mom use to do to get decent prices.)
There is also craigslist but I don't suggest you go there unless you can obtain the vin and check it's not stolen... And make sure not to leave with out the title.
Don't even give a penny unless you get the title.
Edit: If you want I can try scouting out some cars for you?Last edited by CL0V3R; 10 Jan. 2012 at 04:50am.
