The world is predicted to end in 2012.
The Mayans predicted it.
12/21/12 is the date their calendar ended.
Did anyone ever consider that maybe the calendar ended because at that time they were all mass slaughtered?
I'm sure it would be bigger but there's like...nobody there to do it.

Maybe if people didn't have their heads up their own asses on this they would know that the Mayan calender shows the ends of eras, not the world. The last part is in 2012, which will be the end of an era, nothing else. Anyone that has actually studied the ancient civilizations of south america would know that.
Lets also not forget that they thought a bunch of blonde guys were their god, who inevitably slaughtered them all. Forgive me if I find it hard to believe anything that comes from them.Last edited by Souleater; 27 Oct. 2011 at 12:16pm.

Mayans up and left their civilization and we don't know where they went. They weren't slaughtered. The had done this before, we can't figure out why or where they go.
The Mayan calendar is based on era and an endless cycle where the world is destroyed and reborn. According to their calendar the universe has been destroyed countless times and then been reborn. Their calendar ends at 2012 not to mark an era but to mark the end of the cycle of rebirth. So yeah they though the world was gonna end then. They even got some big ass boats and paddled out to a really far away island and built this wonderful little monument there because it allows for one to watch various celestial events that lead up to the dec. 21, 2012 as well as whatever it happens on that day.
Is the world going to end, most likely not. They thought it would though.
