So for my [stupid as hell] bible [thumping] class, we have to collect random peoples' thoughts on truth. Stupid? I know.
So if anyone's bored/loves me/is feeling deep, please answer these questions for me! Please try not to like, swear and shit. I rather not have to edit the answers too much xD
1. What is truth?
2. Is there an absolute truth?
3. How would you describe the Bible in your own words?
4. Is the Bible a trustworthy, historical document?
5. Do you think Jesus's words are true?
I really don't care if you answer the exact opposite way my school would like you to. Either way, opinions are opinions, and that's what I'm collecting. :[

1. What is truth?
The truth is a light illuminating the darkness of despair.
2. Is there an absolute truth?
Yes, 2+2 is always 4. All truth is such.
3. How would you describe the Bible in your own words?
A book constructed and written by men in response to something greater than themselves.
4. Is the Bible a trustworthy, historical document?
Absolutely not. I believe there was a Jesus I believe he did stuff and said stuff similar to what happens in the Bible but is more of a message thing than a historical document.
5. Do you think Jesus's words are true?
In the sense of the general meanings. Not the random interpretations of "hate this or that" but the "love is the greatest commandment" ect. The laws in the Old Testament are written by men, the general uplifting messages and good stuff is all valuable.
I'm an apathetic Catholic. I'm going to hell, no doubts here but I still acknowledged the values of my faith even if its damned me. Note that my beliefs are not 100% accurate for Catholicism.

Pure truth, like pure gold, has been found unfit for circulation, because men have discovered that it is far more convenient to adulterate the truth, than to refine themselves.
