I like the second one better than the first one. Both are cool. And I don't listen to this kind of stuff that much so my opinions may be very wrong, like you could be a genius and I wouldn't know because I want melodies and dynamics, and changes.
First one gets boring because you lack any melodic content. Like it starts with those chords and then whirling thing and that walking melody but they don't go anywhere. You have things come in and sound but I think you'd do better if you had some sort of melody going somewhere.
The voices and the crumpling and stuff gets really overwhelming at points and I think you'd do way better to start with them and then fade them and then maybe have them at the end. You're doing stuff to keep it interesting but I feel like its the wrong stuff cause it doesn't seem related.
2:17 note sounds that is freakin awesome. 23 you are now heading in a great direction, stuff between could be axed. 27 you start bringing "noise" in over the what little melody is there and I'm saddened. I like the ending though, sort of.
The second one presents the sounds way better and you way more melodic. Not as much as I would want but hey it sounds cool. Again I'd dial back the noises in the background and try and focus more on the melody. Rapper makes it more connected to the listener. 3:23, whatever is going one behind the rapper is way more interesting than the rapper and I think you can do a lot with it. Same thing from other mix I assume. I'd nix him around there and start doing something whatever is there.
But like I said I don't listen to this kind of music I know nothing of the style. Though I'm pretty loose with "melody" and "tonality" cause I like atonal classical stuff but I need some logic that I can pick up on to give me something to follow. I feel lost and like I'm treading water with waves of different hitting me when I listen to stuff like this. The pieces I can get into of this stuff have defined directions and while you can't always predict them(which makes them better) you see how you got from a to b.
Still very cool stuff and I can't do it. I've tried repeatedly and failed.
