5 hours ago, a fire in Bastrop had consumed 14000 acres. I think the fire started at noon? So 14000 acres in 9 hours.
Looking at online weather radars now, the smoke is detected by radar all over the South.
I wish I could help. I'm Fire Management trained, but not a high enough level.
I might be driving down to help out at the Red Cross evacuation shelters tomorrow if I can get off work.
