I want to get a beam style infrared motion sensor for our bridge so I know when people are coming before they reach the driveway
So. Are any of you familiar with this? I know there are grid based moton sensors that detect any movement over a wide area, but I just want a beam that alarms when it is broken.
Roughly the beam needs to reach across a 14 foot gap, And the sensor itself needs to either be capable of sending the signal wirelessly 260 feet, Or have one hell of cord to it.
Assist?

Reminds me of the time I made a trip wire to my to my room and if anyone stepped foot inside, it would text me and let me know.

Tripwires would be too obvious. and verrrrrrry long. and resetting them would suck.

I vaguely recall having one marketed as a kids toy for a while.
Had a max of ~300 feet before it started setting itself off.
Shouldn't be too hard to find something, but the toy was discountinued.
Disco is neat.
