i just realized that a relatively important file on my desktop was deleted. (txt file, had some passwords, phone nums etc) does anyone know how to recover the file? i have about 100 gig of space left on the disk and the file was deleted only a few days ago so i dont think its overwritten yet.

i perm deleted it by accident, never went through the recycling bin.

always use system restore to restore your pc to a certain date in time.
Since you said you did it a night ago or so, depending on how much your computer has been used since then will determine how much of the file is permanently erased for ever. Most likely chance, it's already gone.
yea its gone, already checked a few times. thanks for the suggestions though.
