Check out Fade by Robert Cormier and The Chocolate War by the same author. Both are kinda thrillers, one is a science-fiction, the other is realistic fiction.

The Outsiders and Agatha Christie's "10 little ******s (no racial intention intended. It's the legitimate title of the book) are the best I've ever read.
