Thinking about doing free artwork for a day or two.

But I'm just wondering how many would actually request anything seeing as how the Drawing forum goes somewhat unvisited. Of course, I won't be accepting requests all day, probably the first 5 or so, because I don't want to get in over my head, and I want to finish before the holidays. This thread is just to get some feedback on the idea. If I decide to do so, I'll open up a thread in the future and it'll be first come first serve. Thinking of doing this because... it's the holidays, I'll share in the fun.

I already told him no to that unless it was a paid commission. This and that are totally unrelated as this is something I thought of recently, and it's a limited thing. How is it unrelated? you said doing free artwork for a day or 2 ... it didnt even have to be anything fancy just something saying Merry christmas.... so i thought i'd take a try and see if i could snag the last part

ugh you know what forget it lets face it when i say you just dont like me (dislike; hate; have something against; etc.) :-/

It's best to just back out RB, there's no point in continuing and no-one is forced to like anyone here, hell, I don't mind being flamed/ignored/whatevered as long as they don't go on a persona vendetta creating threads based off of their hatred for me.

Yeah, this thread isn't the actual request thread (for anyone who was confused about that); it's just to decide if I want to do it or not. I want at least 5 people to support it. Once the thread is made the first five who request there will be the ones whom I do work for. Also, 5 isn't definite, if I finish the first 5 quick enough, then I'll probably allow another request. I actually won't make the thread right away after the fifth person though; I'll probably wait a couple of days because I'm a bit busy with friends.

Yup, I think the Drawing section is more for posting artwork than it is for requests, and it doesn't have any sub-forums like the Graphics section has.

Given how dead the Drawing section is, requests may be just what it needs. Also, an activity in requests will draw attention to it and likely have others posting elsewhere in it. I noticed this on a forum I moderate. I ran a themed forum game in the series forum it was themed after (Sonic mafia in the Sonic forum). A lot of mafia fans came to play the game, and it led to many of them posting actively elsewhere in the Sonic forum.

Just look at how many replies this thread got. I think the same could be done to the drawing section.
You could even maybe charge like 500 or 1k LG. Or whatever you wish.
I'd probably buy some artwork depending on your level of expertise.

Well, when I said I wanted the Drawing section to be active, I meant more people posting artwork or critique, not just making requests. Plus, most of the replies in this thread were irrelevant around pages 2 and 3.

LGG means nothing to me. I only accept paypal, actual money. But as I said, the requests will be FREE for this event I'm hosting. Even though I'm not as up there with my favorite artists, and I believe I still have much to learn; I think I'm quite experienced and proficient in my work.

Well you CAN use the LGG to buy a Gaia account. Then sell the Gaia account for USD. Just giving you some suggestions.
