there used to be this thing on bored.com where you could call someone else with any number you wanted.

I know that there was an app for Android that lets you spoof the name on outgoing calls, but for texts i'm not sure since they work on a different protocol. However if you know someone who can copy a SIM card people have had some success on CDMA networks. You can also use software like FreeSwitch to spoof calls. A quick search however brings up Fake SMS texts - Anonymous mobile phone text messages txts for fun! which seems free and SpoofCard - Caller ID Spoofing, Voice Changing & Call Recording | Prank Calls which seems to be a pay service. I also found The Untraceable Man: How To Spoof SMS (text messages) which gives information on how to do it and recommends fakemytext
