I don't think it has much to do with America not being united because of the war its because of the division the reasons created. America is not what it used to be, not its all this bureaucratic bullshit blaming people for things they have no control over. Troops for the war, and America for sending people to die for something that they may or may not agree with.

And all of the Human Rights people pulling uneducated, ignorant shit out of their mouths saying that we shouldn't be killing these people, that its not ethical to kill a terrorist piss me off. Only thing I can say to that is, go and "reason" with these people and see how long you stay alive. I had many reasons. One was for college for free, to make myself better physically/mentally, and to be able to say that I did something that less than 1% of the current population of the United States in the 17-25 age frame can say that they have done. To really be one of the few that can make a difference. Considering that I have never been deployed, and that I was in the communications, so I was a huge POG (not infantry), I still can say that I have made a small difference.

Honestly its because I wanted to be the best me that I could be, and in many ways the Marines has helped me to do that. The only downside was that when I went to Boot Camp and came back to LG, I was a lot less logical than I was before I left. I went from discussing quanta theory and space travel in depth and in lengthy ways to re-reading those threads and being lost in translation. Its hard to go from thinking about everything for years on end, and then I didn't have to think about anything for 3 months, it takes a toll on your reasoning capabilities. But luckily, I have been able to remain loyal to LG for more than 4 years, and hopefully one day I can join the ranks of our legendary admins.

And politically speaking my reasoning is this: don't lie blatantly to us about your stances. At least be honest and I will have more trust for you than normal. Lie or change your views just for the polls to make you look better, and you are a spineless piece of garbage and I will wish ill on your campaign and vote for the other guy. Lets face it, if I ran for president, I would never win because people wouldn't like my views, and I won't change them. But maybe one day you will see a Souleater for president commercial on TV.

You don't go crazy from killing people. If that were true one of my good friends who was in the initial push of Falluja in 2oo4 he would be fucked up and killed a family member. He saw hundreds of dead bodies and rivers of blood. He saw people get sawed into pieces with .5o rounds from a mounted machine gun. He is fine now. It all depends. Some people are made for the military and can handle it, and others can't. No person is out of control with killing...unless you are a serial killer.

The Marine Corps will make your life easier because of all of the bullshit and mental exhaustion that you get put through. It makes you angry when you're in but it makes the rest of your life pretty easy because there is no waking up at 3:00 AM to run 8 miles or taking accountability of gear that you just took inventory of for the last 5 days because people fucked something up.
