Oh look, another close minded teenager who bashes things that he's probably never used for more than a few hours, if even that. Bottom line is, Windows is amazing, Os x is amazing, linux, BSD, etc are also amazing. Don't hate on somebody because they like something different than you.

I prefer windows over mac but macs are alright.

When you're buying a mac you're also paying for the research and care that goes into the design. You're also paying for the quality parts, they may not be the fastest on paper. But Apple puts a great deal of care into choosing the most sturdy/reliable parts. They also get amazing fsb speeds into their logic boards. The thing most people don't realize is that processor speed isn't the only thing that makes a computer fast. Computers are very tricky to choose the right parts for, choose the wrong part and it will dramatically drag down the performance of the machine. They also use great materials, the tracpad on Apple computers are the best i've ever used. My sister's $800 HP has a horrible chrome tracpad made out of plastic. You're also paying for the great support that comes with it. You have a much higher chance of finding a fix for a mac than most other computers.
