A lot of RPGs now go beyond the simple:are you good or bad as a character in a game and place you in situations where you have to make a call and live with the outcome of your actions in game. So the pursuit of demon wings is now coupled with can you emotionally handle killing these kids and then being hunted by the people of town x forever.
I think it's a more interesting game for sure that way but how has it, or has it effected the way you play?
I personally tend to like my characters to be "evil" if only for aesthetic/stat/ability reasons. Though at the same time in things like Fallout where money or items are an issue I turn into the biggest asshole in the world. I'll actively hunt and kill anyone to get stuff I want or need.

I love the idea of playing as the bad guy in every game.
I believe that in video games, nothing should be left standing, given I have the ammo to make sure it's handled.
A bit morbid and insane, I realize but I don't give a fuck.

I don't know. In most cases I do what ever I feel would be right in the situation. I have a hard time being completely evil a good majority of the time. Usually I play through how I would respond or be in the situation then replay it as a huge asshole. Lol
All hail kitty pig.

In games like this I play and make decisions as if it were actually me (without the fear of real life consequences) and for the most part my characters always tend to be toward the neutral evil side. However in Skyrim I am hated by everyone.

I always try to stay neutral in games. If I have to choose a side I normally lean towards the evil side.

Do you think that how to react in a video game says anything about how you'd react in real life?
I personally feel in a survival situation I'd be the asshole that shot people just so I didn't have to compete with them for resources.

I like playing the evil side in RPGs. Not because it has any bearing on my real life, but to the contrary because of how different it is. That's the point of games, after all. If I wanted to see what a peaceful adventure was like, I'd go outside. The fact that I'm staring at a bunch of flashing lights kinda emphasizes that I'm looking for something new. The evil stories are interesting, because they're novel. They're not generally realistic, so not depressing. But they are new. Some organization ruling the world. It's never happened. I'm curious what it could be like, how some artist envisions it, how a skilled team of artists, programmers, designers, and writers can create a hypothetical world.
I don't think playing the evil story in an RPG is any more representative of "how I'd react in real life" than reading or enjoying Orwell's 1984 makes you a totalitarian.

I personally see myself playing more of the advantagous role. If I think helping you will get me some shiny stuff with a cool name... well I'm gonna be your best friend. However, if I peek in your inventory and find a rare gun I want, or some ammo/health/parts.... Well your dead kiddo. XD
