Ds?
- 07 Oct. 2012 06:29am #2
DS Lite really has everything you need, game wise. So does the old DS, actually, but I think it's too big.

I agree with the ds lite. Personally it's the most comfortable to play on for me personally.
All hail kitty pig.

I have a DS, and it is the greatest thing I ever purchased when coupled with an R4 card.
Disco is neat.

Nitendo DS is one of my favorite game consoles. I prefer it over the PSP.
I'd say yes.

I have two old DS', both with cracked screens and one with a broken hinge. I also have a DSi, but I don't recommend it. The store has no games, there's no GBA slot, and no one uses the camera. I'm looking into a 3DS now, because I'm obsessed with Animal Crossing and they're coming out with a new one for the 3DS.

I've had tons of people say this to me, but I don't understand it. Why would you want to do it all virtually, when you can hold and look at the awesome hardware, instead of just seeing it emulated and using a computer? People don't understand why I burn CDs rather then just keep the files on my computer either though, so whatever I guess.

I would hands down recommend a 3DS, since they aren't going to be making DS games anymore. And it's the same price as a DSi XL, IIRC. You'd be an idiot not to, since the 3DS plays DS games. That's like asking to buy a GameCube for the same price as a Wii when the Wii can play GameCube games too.
Of the DS's, the DSi XL is the best. I mean, they're all straightforward. Just buy the one that suits you best.

If you do go down the route of a 3DS I suggest the 3DS XL. The normal 3DS is just way too small for a decent 3DS screen and only has about a six inch wiggle room from your face for the 3D where the XL has more.
All hail kitty pig.

To be honest, if you really want to play DS games, then still go for Lite. One of the greater games on it are already made anyway. If you're very concerned about new games coming out, you're better off getting a PSVita.

I'd spend the money for a PSP and homebrew it for PS1 games before I considered spending any amount of money on a Vita.
It's gonna end up like the Phillips' CD-I

Vita is a decent system. I expect that it, like the PS3 will be underutilized for awhile. So I've held off on getting one.
I have been considering a DS as well(for the pokemon games yo).
Even if the Vita doesn't take off in the US it has in Japan, the first thing they did with it(same for the PSP) was get porn on it.

I don't even acknowledge the PSP or PSVita's existences, and I'm a PlayStation fan.
Nintendo all the way for handheld games. More variety to choose from. I like the DS Lite more. I had one until it was stolen out of my car by some jerk kids at the mall. Now I just play from a DS Emulator and my pen tablet.
ಠ_ಠ It's not the same.

I agree with the "Hold off on a PSVita until you actually see more games on it" Because you really don't want to spend the price of an Xbox 360 or PS3 on a tiny little handheld, and then have it be a complete flop and have no games to play. Get a DS, there's no chance of that ever flopping any time soon, unless Nintendo somehow comes out with a new handheld soon. They might, but still - the 3DS is extremely new still - I doubt that they would completely crash it for some other new handheld.

You know the actual DS has 2 screens too, don't you?
DS emulators work fine. That is actually a way better alternative to buying a DS, since the DS is outdated now, unless you legitimately want portability and don't care that there won't be any multiplayer since everyone you would know has already beaten their games.
And as far as the Vita goes, don't be dumb. 3DS is better than Vita in all the ways, and as stated a modded PSP would serve you way more enjoyment.
At the same time, you can "mod" a DS by getting one of those hacked cardamajigs to play older consoles, like SNES and Genesis portably. Beautiful concept. You can do that on a modded PSP too, but if you want the DS games on top of the older games, a "modded" DS would be a better alternative.

I love my DS Lite in white. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I had a DSi and I liked it I dis liked that it didn't have a GBA game slot, Like the reg DS. And when I go to buy my next system it'll be a 3DS because that's what everything is going to come out on.
