I got it on tuesday for the xbox, and must I say Microsoft out did them selves.
It's very nice. With a great plot.
Fable 2 was very short, but fun.
Fable 3, Seems long. I've only started so I can say if it is very long or not, and very fun.
Has any one else played/have it.

What is the customization like?
How many costumes/clothes/armors are there so far?

Fable 2 was only short if you didn't run off doing side-quests and junk.
Also, what Defy asked.
Disco is neat.

The customization of your character is a little simpler than before.
In Fable 2 their was a inventory.
In Fable 3 There isn't.
Theirs a sanctuary which holds all your weapons/clothes.
In the sanctuary there is rooms- I forgot how many their are.
But I remember three rooms.
Armoury- Holds all of your weapons. Hammers, pistols, rifles, spell gauntlets ( In the second one, their was a magic wheel...kinda. And you choose what spell you wanted to use, in this one you pick a glove, which gives you the power of that spell. Fire, electricity, ice, blades, etc. Later on you can mix spells into one, its really cool. )
Dressing Room- You can access all of your apparel. Their are these dummies in the middle of the room which display the outfit at which you can wear. And you cycle through various types. Going from tattoo's, facial hair, etc.
Live Room- You can go to xbox live and do what they have to offer in the game in xbox live. I don't have live right now, so I can't tell you anything about it. But here's from the mini book:
You can view your friends list, invite other players into your game, join some Else's game, and browse items available for download through the online store.
Thats all the rooms I know off which all you can customize your character with.
Any other questions, just ask.

I'm assuming there's still a skill system?
If so, how has it changed to accomodate the gloves?

There is, you still get your orbs which get into your "guild seal" And with that guild seal, you can the "land of hope" and unlock abilities with how ever much orbs you have.
And you just don't unlock abilities their is a bunch of stuff.

I want to get myself this game, I like it how in the previews it said you were a king, however I think the timline of the games just screwed them over.
I liked fable 1 because it was the "Hero" era, where there were monsters and magic was common, everybody in the guild knew how to use their will energy, and there were no guns only swords, bows, and crossbows.
Fable 2 was great however, I don't like it how they jumped 500 years into the future, it was a big change because I really loved the "Hero" era and in this one it was getting more civilized. Sure in fable 2 there were more customization, and more options to do certain things, but I just don't like the whole thought of "You have guns, and yet still Monsters 12x your size are running around in fields waiting to get their heads blown off with your blunderbuss" also in fable 2 I didn't like the Magic system change in fable 2, it just made everything seem weird to me.. I think all of this is odd for me because i'm an old school RPG guy, where I was brought up on Final Fantasy where ogres are at your every left turn, but don't get me wrong I love the battle system in fable 2, just not the weapons, or the magic.
Fable 3 i'm kinda confused on towards where its at, I like how your a king and that you control the land, it sort of reminds me of AoE however rather then having that mysterious person controlling everybody, you can change it around and BE that guy. Still not so fond of the weapons or timeline, nor am I looking forward to the Gauntlets things. I still think its worth playing, and I can't wait to go and get it.
I hope to god that Lion head studio guys are making what they were talking about in fable 1/TLC, there was alot of talk about "The Old Kingdom" where dragons roamed freely and which this took place even before Fable 1. I hope they go through with their plans and make a game based on that era of the timeline only because I can picture it as Fable 1 with all the features and customization of fable 2/3. I don't know if they are even making this, but it would be a GREAT prequel to the entire series...

The Fable story line always seems short. Is this one set up for a 4th game.

I honestly didn't like it.
The weapon customization only works with hero weapons.
Very short storyline, and once your finished, there really isn't much left to do, and it gets boring quickly.

What game did you play?
Fable 3 isn't even half the length of Fable 2. Fable 3 was hugely disappointing. It was short, there is a huge lack of customization or free flowing plot, reduction in spell, the effect the player has on the game, and the story is hardly as engaging and almost laughable.
Weapon upgrade system is fucked to hell and stupid. The side quest of Fable 3 have give the player no incentive to do them. Fabe 2 side quest fit into the story and had real reward fable 3 quest have no real reward. They murdered the ex system. Your morality has no effect on your look, nor does your improved skills, nor does your eating. The world is much smaller dispite supposed "increased" level size. The only good thing they did was fix the co-op.
Also industrial era was lost because there is nothing industrial about the period you're in. Weapons are all lame. This evolution of weapons concept is cool but only applies to the four starter weapons and isn't really that well implemented. Most achievement are stupid and pointless.
Fable and Fable 2 were way better. Fable is the gold standard in my mind and Fable 2 if it had this co-op system and better control scheme would be the best game ever. Fable 3 was a step backwards I think.

This game=disappoint.
I hate the fail-trail. It tried to make me jump off a bridge to my death once. Then it tried to make me go through a wall. One time i was walking and all of a sudden my dog was standing on my head. It wouldn't come down from the air, that bitch.
The game was short, the lack of actual menus made it way too complicated. I could have done without the whole sanctuary, seriously. Plus it break story line. Ben was like "follow me" and i was like hold up i need to go change clothes and all of a sudden i'm in some far off place supposed to be following the dude but he doesn't even care.
the game sucked. there's no doubt about it. sucked big time.
