i dont think it is. I haven't played it but Halo wars sucked and ODST. They seem to be failing lately.

I love Halo Wars... haven't played ODST though.
Reach has a lot of new features which lulls the user into custom games on forge. There are a lot of opportunities for epic machinimas now because of all the ridiculously large maps.
I've gotten up to the 6th level on campaign (because I'm waiting for somebody so we can continue) and I don't like it so far. That could be because I'm just playing on normal to get a feel but we'll see.
The graphics are the same as Halo 3 (not the actual graphics, the quality) but maybe a little better. Explosions are a lot more realistic now.
I haven't played multiplayer but I can tell that it has a different feel to it... the fact that there are only 9 maps available at the moment limits multiplayer very much.
If I were you I would have pre-ordered just so you have the Recon armour and UA Multi-threat junk but since you didn't, wait until something good happens to it.
