Need help game saving/transfering files between computer and 360

Ok, so I got hold of a program that will allow me to alter thing in a save of FFXIII and rather than spend 70 hours getting the best equipment and such I can do it in like 5 minutes if I can get the file on my computer. Problem being I have no clue how to go about that because I've never tried to before.
Any one know how that works or the cheapest/easiest way to do it?
Tried ethernet, wireless, and usb methods to no avail; though I figured that wouldn't work any way.

You can use a USB. Configure for Xbox 360, Move file to USB, computer, Load file, edit, move back to usb, move to xbox 360, done.

If that had worked I wouldn't have asked. Configured, stuck save on, plugged into computer, and nothing shows up on it.
