i always keep the reciept because of this reason.
sometimes it dosent activate at the register

Microsoft is having troubles with getting the codes and shit right now because of all the downloads going on and people trying to get the new map pack. So give it some time then try putting it in.

My code worked on Games for Windows - LIVE, but not on my xbox, wonder why that is? ;P
Fuck you Microsoft, I'm going to play PS3 if they don't fix all this shit.

i went back to gamestop 3 times and was like wtf why is my card not activated.
