Nintendo 3D-DS

So it ws announced yesterday that nintenduld be releasing a new "3D DS" without the need of those stupid glasses. Not alot has been revealed, more will be told this june at E3.
So what are everyones thoughts on this will it make a good addition to the DS collection? or will it be a rip off like the DSi?

Well if it looks good, I think might be worth it, but I have a feeling the price will be outrageous. I wont be buying it anytime soon.

I'm sure you'll have to buy games that are 3-D supported. . . Who knows, maybe 5th Generation Pokemon will be 3-D .

Yeah, I would imagine games would cost a lot more as well.

I wonder if the fact that it's 3-d will put any strain on your eyes...Maybe they'll have a suggested time for playing games, that no one will follow.

OnTopic: This will probably be a big bust. If consoles aren't capable of doing it yet, why would handheld consoles be able to? I smell another Project N.A.T.A.L coming through. Longest realease of a game system ever.

consoles can though. the xbox 360 can but you have to have a 3D TV to do it.
UPDATE it will be called the 3DS (name in making).

I read somewhere that this technology is called stereophonic visuals or something? And the estimated cost for the 3D illusion display for the DS sized screens would be around 20$ per display, which isn't that bad.
