I was wondering about an inflation idea. There is too much of this one item. I have been buying a ton of it on a mule account. I was going to have the account banned so no one can touch that item. Is that a bad idea? On the mule there has to be at least one thousand of that item... So, what do you think?

We've tried it before, just not the whole getting it banned thing. Shit got inflated massively for the first couple of hours or so, but then it dropped back down.

it wont work. it will start to deflate almost instantly. you would have to horde the item for months before you could get all of it and actually get the item at a high, permanent price.
getting the account banned isnt a good idea either since it would be cleaned out and sent back out into the gaian market for sale. so the item would relaly just go back to normal.
the banned account would be cleared, and the items put back into the market. no real point in getting banned. keep it legit, and horde and the items will stay high generally.Voted Hottest Male Member

I understand what you are trying to do... If you want those items permanently removed from the market, sell them all to a store.

for some items, yes they are out of luck, but if it is a rare item, like DJ headphones, ninja headband, kistune mask, ancient katana, and items like that that are really rare and hard to come by now-a-days, they are generally returned through the sale logs, trade logs/trasaction logs.
the main way they find out is that they end up just monitoring high end item trades, sales, gifts, etc. any item that is half-way decent will be monitored by some member of the staff in some way.

Is there any way of deleting an item?

I took a NM scarf from a pretty active user once, nothing happened for months. (I sold it pretty fast) Only got banned because one of my r/l friends opened her mouth.
@ Genari, the closet thing you can do to deleting an item is probably selling it, spreading the gold out between a few accounts, buying random mc's with those, and spread the mc's among even more accounts xD
