Buying items?

I'm not new to the whole buying items and gold thing, because I use powerbot.org, sythe and a few other places to buy gold for other MMOs and shit, but I;m wondering how safe is it to buy gaia items here, from the MarketPlace? Of course there's always a risk, but I'm trying to limit it of course, looking to buy off of someone here, he has a legit Marketplace mod saying it's a legit seller. Not trying to point fingers, although I probably already gave it away, but just curious. Thanks.

Depends on luck a lot of the time. If the account is stolen, but hasn't been active for a year or more then it's normally fine unless you make it extremely obvious. Buying single items is more risky than an entire account for high value items.
It also depends on how they've accessed the account. If they used Tor to log in once to get a valuation, the account would be a lot safer than an account that someone grabbed and logged in from their main IP and ran bots etc on it.
Really though, no matter who you buy from there is always a risk no matter what precautions of methods they used to obtain the account.
As for the person you are talking about, I can vouch for him as well, we've known each other and sold items together for probably 8+ years now.
