Anyone ever been part of a group hoard ? I remember back before I stopped playing a few exchange friends and I decided to hoard a bunch of the limited time GC items and jacked the price up from around 100,000g to about 700,000g for about a month until people finally purchased enough that we didn't own the market majority, but by that time we already made at least 1M profits a piece
I haven't looked at the market much lately, but would this still be possible to do (it took a lot of time and dedication to keep it going that long) or would it fail because gold isn't as scarce as it used to be and people are more aware of this kind of inflation.

I hoard in TF2. I tried on Gaia, but it only worked once. IDR what the item was, but it was during some Snoop Dogg promotion. Item went from 1g to 100g. Took me weeks to buy all of them below 100g. But it never went down again.

Ours dropped like a sack of rocks as soon as people decided to start undercutting our prices, but for a while we had people who figured out what we were doing and actually went along with it. I used to play TF2, but I ended up just giving up on playing because my FPS never would break 25 in a fire fight.
I remember the snoop dogg promotions haha that's around the time I was leaving Gaia if I remember correctly

I'd have to have like two months prep because I have maybe 100k on Gaia if that anymore.

Oh okay, will do. How much cash would you recommend we have on hand before we start doing this?
Also, anyone else here up for it?

Ah that would be handy ill watch the market and keep m eyes on a few items while I try and get a sum of gold together. If I see any worthwhile items ill take note and we will decide what to attempt it with, worse case scenario is we're stuck with a blah item.

Well I only have like 500-600k trk with right now, so I'm pretty limited If you guys wanna do this though, I'm definitely down. We should keep an eye on the market, like you said.
Also, Charles, that would be a really handy feature, and make normal Vending a breeze. I think you should add it.

In all honesty, I wouldn't even bother trying to artificially inflate items, it rarely works and the pay out is rarely worth it if ever.

I was thinking of making a Market Bot, where you set a list of items you want scanned, and each item will have a thread or two dedicated to just scanning for that item, and if it finds an item under a certain percentage threshold of the average (which I have a JSON view of getting that info somewhere unless I lost it). Then just to overkill it some more, have a few threads completely dedicated to buying, so that you will continue scanning even as you have several threads trying to buy the same item (raising chance of you getting it). Honestly though, I never bother with the "over-time" profit methods really, they are boring to me so the chances of me doing this are low.
