I've been researching Gaia bots recently as I am considering writing one myself..But I can't find good answers to a couple of critical, general questions and I found this site and was hoping you guys could maybe help me out (if I do end up writing this bot it will be publicy released ). When it comes to writing bots I like to be very, very careful. I like bots that people can run on their mains with very low possibility of getting caught, even if it doesn't make them insane amounts of gold like riskier bots might. I still don't know what sort of bot I would like to write.

How serious is Gaia's botting problem? It doesn't really look like they have all that much trouble with bots.

How sophisticated is their bot detection? Does it consist of any *smart* detection or do developers just troll around forums like this looking for bots to add detection for? How proactive are they about combatting bots?

Does Gaia retroactively ban for botting upon finding some sort of account activity pattern that is indicative of bot use? So for example if they find some oddity in an HTTP request that they decide is evidence of botting, will they look back in server logs and ban everyone who made that sort of request?

How well have other public bots been able to stay (relatively) safe? Looking in the public programs section, it looks like the majority are remaining safe to use?
