Is creating numerous mule accounts and using a gold granting link on each on of them and then funneling it to a main account illegal in any way?
Are any of the botting/gold harvesting techniques described on this site illegal?
Can there be law repercussions for messing with Gaia or is the most they can do is ban your account?
This is in the TOS section 12:
"Gold, Virtual Currency. Throughout your Gaia Online experience, you may accumulate "Gold," which constitutes a limited license right to use a feature of Gaia Online when, as, and if allowed by Gaia. Gold is the fictional currency used in the world of Gaia Online and it may be used to purchase virtual goods or virtual services which are stored in the Member's inventory and can be used to enhance the look of the Member's on-line persona or player, also known as an "Avatar", or other on-site features. Gaia may charge fees for the right to use Gold, or may distribute Gold without charge, in its sole discretion. Regardless of terminology used, Gold represents a limited license right governed solely under these Terms, has no real value, and is not transferable or redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value from Gaia at any time. You agree that Gaia has the absolute right to reduce, manage, regulate, control, modify and/or eliminate Gold as it sees fit in its sole discretion, and that Gaia will have no liability to you based on its exercise of such rights. Notwithstanding any other language to the contrary, as used in these Terms and throughout Gaia Online in the context of Gold transfers: (a) the term "sell" means "to transfer for consideration to another Member or Gaia the licensed right to use Gold in accordance with these Terms" and (b) the term "buy" means "to receive for consideration from another Member or Gaia the licensed right to use Gold in accordance with these Terms." Gaia may halt, suspend, discontinue, or reverse any Gold transaction (whether proposed, pending or past) in cases of actual or suspected fraud, violations of these Terms or other laws or regulations, or deliberate disruptions to or interference with Gaia Online, such as creating multiple secondary accounts strictly to accumulate Gold by using site features and then funneling it to a singular account."

It says right there that pretty much all they can do is tamper with your gaia account.
You would get in more trouble for having a keylogger or something to that affect.

there is no legal recourse that gaia can take against you. as much as they can do is ban you.

Most they can do with doing shit about gold is ban you or IP ban.

Im pretty sure almost everyone creates mules, then funnels the accumulated gold to your main account.
I, myself, have like five mules.
Theres a lot of things in the ToS that Gaia doesnt really care about.
They're too busy with more important things.
Yes, they could ban you for that, but most likely wont.
And like other posters said before me, no legal action can be taken; everything just stays within the gaia community.

Is it possible for gaia to get a copyright on gold? xD
I know I sound dumb, but how can they let people profit from their site? o_o

I recommend not making a cash hack...
Since it would make a problem.

Yes. They'd care more since its their main source of income.
If someone discovers one he shouldn't teach people in public since it would be abused and used a lot of time making it easily detectable, then it would get patched very soon

the gaia cash hack has already been patched and most of the people that have used it ended up banned. I should know, lost a few of my mains and a lot of mules using it way back when it first came out.
new ways pop up every day though.
and yes hacking cash is more illegal than hacking accounts or gold, you're dealing wth real money at that point.Voted Hottest Male Member

They can't do anything about it. If they give you an IP ban, all that you need to do is renew your IP Address.

Since Gaia gold isn't purchased with Real money, being put in court for it would most likely result in Gaia losing the case, so I don't think they would bother.

Actually, gaia cash is gained through buying cash cards, and that finances gaia the most. and if you just stole cash, then you stole gaia's money, and they will do anything to get back at you for that. so that would technically be theft. they cant do shit if you steal gold. cash is another story.

well, lets look at it like this. gaia bans indiscriminately. all that exploiting the cash would do is very basically give them reasons to start trying to take legal action (in stealing Gaia Cash, one of the main sources of their income), and to ban any and every account that gets large amounts of cash at the same time.

well if people were to not do something stupid like idk collect like 50kgc in one transaction there should be no reason for them to notice that someone collected like 1000 gc from the exploit and the exploit wouldnt be noticed if someone doesnt released it.

Its been released before. I know, I had someone do it for me way back when. It got me 1500 GC, and then I only spent like 100GC and they traced the IP to the IP that gave me the GC. And not too long after that, the patched left it open but tried to take legal recourse with that loop-hole.
But gaia knows its there dude.Voted Hottest Male Member
