When gaiaonline first entered the web, it was a fresh idea with a bunch of friends. It slowly grew, until it gained its status today. But with more cash shop items it seems that many of the original people are straying, newbies are becoming more popular, and many people are quiting because lack of items/being hacked. It seems like many websites tend to do this, lots of members and the famous people popping in once or twice. But is gaia ever going to go THAT far? Leave your comments and i'll try to respond, dial-up is terrible.

Gaia, slowly moving toward THAT place?
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:06am #2
Yea, Like a few days ago i figured out that most of my friends in my school play gaia,.. I really do think its growing pretty large
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:08am #3
Yeah, I found some people that were playing at my school. It seems that they boast about this or that and it's usually a cash shop item.

I kinda enjoyed it when it wasn't so large and not soo main stream. Now gaia sells itself out to the highest bidder with the advertisement and lack of creativity with new items and their MMO didn't live up to the hype it generated.
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:10am #5
Yeah your right almost everyone in my school EHMS play gaia i was supprised because i never seen much people play gaia much .
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:24am #6
Lulz.
I think i've seen more advertisements for it then that Evony game.

At least the Evony advertisement is fun to look at XD, Gaia now targets these new age emofags and kids at the shallow side of the gene pool
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:27am #8
Yeah, they've got all these weird ads and shit :/
It's sad.
Shameless advertising my butt.

i give Gaia another few years or less till another site takes over.
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:36am #10
I like Gaia, but in the last few years, the ideas have been getting worse and worse and soon I think it's gonna just become some sell-out site that advertises through monthly-collectibles and trailer items.
e.g. : some of the monthly collectibles, the trailer items and how they're even supporting offers.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I can agree that gaia will eventually be one of those sites unless they start to reform back to the site they use to be I mean i wasnt there from the beginning but I was there from 2006 and the changes are so massive from what it used to be. I just hope they decide to atleast make some kind of adjustments to the site and reach out to a broader audience. Not too many people born and raised in hawaii have gaia accounts. Im one of the very few that do.
- 10 Nov. 2009 02:50am #12
iJoined in 06 and 90 percent of my friends list is wiped out, because gaia sucks and everyone (that matters) is quiting or thinking about it.
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:03am #13
remember when the profile was just your avatar and basic information. No complicated option on where you want to go and I miss the old map layout
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:06am #14
By map layout you mean what?
I loved the old ways of gaia where you could actually play gaia and not see so much crap everywhere
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:07am #15
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:08am #16
Whenever I read the title, I think OP is trying to say "Is Gaia starting to head towards crap"?
and my reply is yes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yeah to be honest I think everything was way simpler than what it is now. New people are having the hardest time trying to navigate through the site, can't find the places where they need to go, post simple questions on the forums and what not. The site has become more dynamic no question but where do you draw the line between becoming dynamic and easy to use or non user friendly, complicating, and frustrating?
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:16am #18
I guess you could compare it to Soliaonline and see which one
is more satisfying, or gonline just use a translator
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:27am #19
it took me 10 minutes to find the damn trade section when i returned.
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:30am #20
No questions about it, it's heading towards THAT place, alright. Come on, the lottery was one of the final straws for me, that, and their gay site redesigns. Teaching myself to move around an unfamiliar setting IS NOT FUN, and neither is the attitude of the powers that be on said site.
And:

Yeah I had the same problems with trade section then the towns were moved to different area and now I can't get to my inventory directly
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:33am #22
People have complained, but the reason why they haven't reverted is because the new user base had no experience with the older versions, and they are trying harder now to be original but really they are just copying other sites.
The whole Facebook ap is just annoying. my live events are full of them just changing clothes every 5 minutes
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:35am #23
i've adjusted to it, but I went crazy for a moment
and thought they updated it again
- 10 Nov. 2009 03:41am #24
Yeah. All my former friends and boyfriends left for that reason. Being hacked.

2 years ago Gaia was awesome, right about then it went into the crapper.
I suppose I'll be done with it when I find some thing equivalent to the old Gaia.

@above: you remember when Ninja Band was 800k, I was there when Halos were 3k. And the main thing that really pissed me off was when they made it so that you couldn't get any gold from posting or polling after a while. ******s.

when everyone can only get somewhere by paying real money, you know that something's gone wrong, junior. Trust me, I was there. There was a time when people could actually get rich by legit means. Now, only no-lifers and established members can get richer.
Cause that's what Gaya is like now - you need a load of gold to breed more gold.

I think most people playing Gaia are from '05 and after.
Noobs and snobby elitists who think that because they've got a gold, it makes them 'better' than everyone else.
Really, from what I see, Gaia won't get past what it is now.
Gaia's at its peak, as they're running out of ideas for their MC and whatnot.

Back in the day too, there were snobby elitists. But the site being what it is, then unfortunately, you will have to deal with elitists of all kinds. If you're a noob, prepare to be flamed, is all the advice most members give, except for the guys haunting the forum support and assistance section. :/

For all the stuff that happens around here, LG itself is always remarkably unchanged. Thanks to the folks who still remembered I was once here and welcomed me back despite me being retarded.
