I find it shows up when you're talking about something against the ToS. Then gaia somehow flags it and it gets deleted and the next time you refresh it says 65000 message for a couple seconds. That's how I got it, because then afterwards when I looked in my inbox, the messages were gone.

It's just a silly little glitch apparently, due to -1 or something. so it'd come up mainly when something is deleted

This. 65k-whatever is a computer standard for numbers. It's 2^16 or some shit like that. 2 to the power of something. You never actually have the PMs for it, so they'll never appear. But Gaia miscalculates your PMs, because of a -1 or other database error, and displays the maximum possible number instead of the actual number.

I hear back when they got hacked the person did a glitch and almost everyone got that,,,

Yeah, there was a point when everyone got it. However, I don't recall it being related to someone getting hacked. I thought it was just a programming error on the staff's side.

Well at least we've learned what the maximum number of PMs is. Not that anyone besides maybe staff should need that much.

if almost everyone got it, then why do people put it in their sigs, like they're the shiznit or something lol...i never got it but my friends did. i thought they just had a lot of friends until now.
