best class?
- 19 Nov. 2009 11:54pm #2
It really depends on what you want to do. Paladins are great classes just because you have the option of Tanking, Healing, or DPSing all in one class. Hunters are great too, my first class was a hunter. Personally I wish I had made a warlock first, they are a ton of fun. Every class has its own benefits, you just have to decide if you want to heal, tank, or dps, and how you want to do it.

It's actually really hard to say what class you should play because as stated each class has their own benefits. I've had a 70 rogue, warrior, and paladin back in BC. But I have tried a mage, warlock, hunter, druid, and shaman( never played priest). It also depends on what you want to do with the character. As for a paladin it is one of the greater classes due to it having two bubbles, its own heals, being able to wear plate armor, and it's pretty good dps. Rogues are great for dps and criting while dodging attacks granted you have the agility. Warriors have even better dps at times and can wear plate and have a ton of health. Mages are good for their long range dps thanks to most of their spells. Warlocks are great for debuffs and dots and they have a summon. Hunters get pets and are great for long range. Druids heals, buffs, and polymorph. Shamans buffs, debuffs, heals, and pretty alright dps. Priests heals, buffs, debuffs, and mid to long range fighting.

haha no problem. I was actually debating to write it all but i just decided, ah what the hell the more information the better. I would also go into all the skill trees but it's usually just best to try out all the skill trees for whatever class you choose. Oh yeah it's also good to look at racial traits when choosing a certain class. Horde ftw

Trust me, dont go for a druid or paladin their WAY to over-populated.
For the best game later on, you want to take a shaman/priest

ok. well i just chose the paladin but im about to make a shaman aswell.
- 20 Nov. 2009 09:59pm #10
Honestly... paladins arent needed.
- 21 Nov. 2009 12:59am #11
well it doesnt matter if they are not needed they are a good all-rounder to new comers. therefore i chose it im creating a shaman account now though , only because shamans look cool.

Archers are easiest class to train.
Grinding is easy too.

@Taylor, that's not necessarily true. It really depends on what server you are on. My server is always low on tanks and healers and if you are a tank/healer you are pretty much always guaranteed to find a group for anything. So a dual-spec healer-tank pally is golden. Priests are probably the most boring class in the game imo. Shammy's are pretty fun though, I wouldn't mind playing one.
And I totally agree with H2O. Any ranged class is super fast leveling, assuming you can afford potions and drinks for mana is you are a mana user. Grinding is a super slow way of leveling though, you are much better off just questing and stuff.FoRspArTA from the old LG, back in the Golden Age.

Honestly, i've played WoW since vanilla paladins are far to overpopulated for those exact reasons.

XD i have a warlock now too. does anyone have any tips for the best way of leveling? other than quests.
- 22 Nov. 2009 10:49pm #16
Well for your first character quests are no doubt the fastest way of leveling. Go into a zone for your level (you can find zone levels on the WoW site) and go to the main area of your faction in that zone. Pick up all the quests you can find there. Go and finish all of them and come back. A ton more will now be available for you, and do all those. Keep doing this pattern and moving from zone to zone. If you have spare cash you can also pay for dungeon runs from an 80, but this can get a little pricy for a first character and you miss the whole questing aspect of the game. Grinding is said to be good, but I have tried it and it it much slower than questing.
Also always stay in LFG for 3 good dungeons for your level while you are questing. If you happen to find a group, join it but keep questing until you have a full group, in case the group breaks up. Dungeons are a good way of leveling, making money (although quests get you money much faster), and gearing up.FoRspArTA from the old LG, back in the Golden Age.

If you go hoard you should do a undead rogue or a undead warlock. I like those alot.

Really the game (on most servers anyway) Lacks healers and Tanks, So I would suggest going as one of them, My first choice for a newcommer would be a Paladin, they kill easily, and are quite hard to die on, However if you prefer Ranged damage to Melee and still want to maintain the choice of going Off-spec Tank/Healer, a Druid would be more suited for you. But really you have a play a variety of classes to find out which one you like best.
And yeah, Nowerdays Grinding is a slow way of leveling, Pre WOTLK/TBC it was better than quests. Also with the XP from PvP now 51 - 60 is done in about 3 hours.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future.

Depending on wether you like PVP or not , as of right this moment , Mages are the most broken class, hybrid spec'd partially into frost for icy veins , then spec'd the rest into fire or arcane , theyre totally stomping the arena ladders this season.
