I saw it. It was ok. We didn't need 3 movies.

I would agree with that statement.

Three hours would've been enough to cover the book.

I felt like they went off-script quite a bit or maybe its just been too long since I've read the book.

They added a lot(The Defiler is an no name character that dies in the hills but he obviously became a reoccurring villain of importance and then of course elf-dwarf love and Legolas magically being important for no reason)and they mixed in a bit of stuff from the Silmarillion sort off.
